RIP Dave Goldberg

The first time I met Dave Goldberg, who passed away suddenly last night, was when I was a contractor at SurveyMonkey. I had been working there for about a month when I encountered him accidentally near his desk at the office building across from Palo Alto City Hall. The thing that struck me about him was that he knew who I was, who I reported to, and what I was working on. He thanked me for helping out.

On a couple of occasions, especially at company holiday parties, I had short conversations with him--sometimes about music, sometimes about what I was working on. He was an incredibly nice person, an inspiring leader, and a technology visionary. His leadership of SurveyMonkey was confident and compassionate. I'm really grateful I got to be on his team.

My heart goes out to his family, Sheryl Sandberg, and their children, as well as his friends, family, and the SurveyMonkey family. I'm really saddened and shocked by his loss.

Rest in peace, Dave.
